Mission

The mission of Stickball Printmedia Arts is to empower youth to become creative problem-solvers by teaching project-based learning and entrepreneurial skills through printmaking and digital arts.

Goals

Stickball seeks to achieve its mission through the following programming goals:

• strengthen the knowledge and understanding of printmedia – a field that extends from the traditional techniques of relief printing and etching to technology-based photographic processes and digital imaging – in schools and communities
• create opportunities for youth to explore the arts, to give voice to their ideas, and to become active learners and citizens who share their art with each other and with their communities
• provide youth with equitable and meaningful access to state-of-the-art visual arts technology and work-based learning affording them transferable skills for postsecondary education or the labor force.
• train and support teachers and teaching artists in providing quality printmedia experiences for their students, integrating printmedia into academic curricula, project-based learning, and service-learning
• partner with schools to raise the arts to curricular significance and create sustainable and scalable arts education reform with measurable goals and outcomes
